This makes me sick and angry. As I type this beautiful creatures
of God lay starving and cold exposed to the elements on halcyonic Locust Grove
Road in the town of Greenfield. Not more than five miles from beautiful
downtown Saratoga Springs and less than two miles from the well maintained
stables of Skidmore College.
How is this possible you might ask? Simple the inbred,
cretins of the Arnold family continue to conspire, wangle and outmaneuver the
court system. So who are Ann Arnold and her clan you ask?
Ann Arnold is a dangerous, mentally ill woman who is in
desperate need of inpatient treatment. A convicted serial horse abuser who is
aided by her equally deranged clan of social misfits.
In 2011 Ann Arnold, 58, was charged with 19 counts of
torture, injure or not feeding animals, misdemeanors, after an investigation by
the Wilton State Police and the SPCA of Upstate New York, discovered many of
her horses were hundreds of pounds underweight. In open court she admitted she
could not financially or physically care for them.
Ann Arnold pleaded not guilty in Greenfield Town Court, but
was subsequently charged again with creating a criminal nuisance after horses
got loose from her Wilton Road farm. I suppose the starving animals were
looking for food. The animals were taken in by the saints of the Catskill
Animal Shelter in Saugerties.
This crazy demented women
was found guilty in May of 19 counts of failure to provide proper
food, water and sustenance and one count of second-degree criminal nuisance,
misdemeanors, for the conditions in which she kept her 23 horses at her farm.
The court ruled the horses were subjected to prolonged and
profound starvation, were underweight by as much as 400 pounds and many
suffered from “rain rot,” a painful skin condition that results from being
exposed to prolonged wet conditions without proper shelter.
Arnold was sentenced to three years of probation and ordered
to pay a $500 fine and $7,112.49 in restitution to the Upstate SPCA for its
care of her horses. She was also ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.
Allegations against Arnold in connection with animal neglect
have surfaced in the past.
Four of her horses and two dogs were seized in December
1995, according to published reports, and she was charged with two counts of
failure to provide proper sustenance to animals and one count of animal cruelty
earlier that same year.
This woman is dangerous. It gets worse.

Arnold was rearrested on a Violation of Probation
She never went for her court ordered mental health
evaluation and she was again found to have starving horses on her property. This
time finally she was jailed. Her demented clan bailed her out.
Now the woman is lawyered up and transferred the farm to her
halfwit brother along with “ownership” of her starving horses. Last night she
was again in Greenfield court and received an adjournment till February. I will
be at that court date and all future court dates.
I’m sick of deranged inbreds getting away with mistreating
and starving animals. I don’t give a fuck that her daddy didn’t love her, or she
feels inadequate or has vulnerabilities including emotional dysregulation or depression and anxiety. Really I don’t give a fuck.
Put her sorry ass in jail. Arrest her halfwit brother for
animal torture and conspiring to circumvent a lawful order of the judge. Tell
noballs DA Murphy to do something

This condition is deplorable. I love horses and this condition should not be allowed to exist. Sounds like it is time for a petition to save these animals and stop the abuse. I would agree that the DA is neglecting his responsibility as well. Where is the Saratogian on this. All the tea parties with pictures but nothing for these horses!!! Time for the shit to hit the fan!!!!!

I Don't see how ANYONE should have gotten an "Officer of the Year" award at the SSPD. I mean, it's just a PBA public image ad, so of course they are going to give it out, but, did anyone really DESERVE it?
We've heard all year that they can't do things because the they are understaffed, yet she has time to lure criminals from other areas to Saratoga? It's great to get sex offenders off the street, but how many violent, unsolved sexual assaults on Saratoga streets is the SSPD sitting in right now. Why not catch them?
The way the SSPD operates, she probably lured 5 of these pedophiles to the area on the computer, but only caught two. They just didn't tell us about the other 3 they lost.

How bout dropping off a couple bales of hay at her place to feed those horses.
I suspect those horses are there because nobody else wants them. Seems like people only shoots darts at Ann Arnold when maybe see is trying to keep those horses from the glue factory.

I have worked with Laura. (No, I'm not a cop.) She is a consummate professional. She is intelligent and intuitive, an ideal investigator. I'm guessing she received this award because when the DA's Office flubbed her examination, she took a lot of heat in the press and never complained. Oh, by the way, 5 will get you 10 that Toothy has no idea who she is.
Laura is a good cop, so are many of the other officers, this award, given by the Lt. Union, creates a bad taste between the officers, who work hard at their job every day!
I agree the individuals she lures into our area should be the focus of another agency! Not SSPD! Two investigators are dedicated to the pervert unit, they should have assigned the Chief to that unit! He's a good fisherman, direct from his office! Should have used that one as an excuse when he got caught showing off his lure!

Ummmm, if they're not ALL "good cops" then NONE of them are good cops. The ones you speak of should be rounding up the ones who aren't so they can be fired and arrested. That's the problem, if these supposed "good cops" aren't doing anything about the problems, they are just as bad.
Regarding this award, why was it given at City Hall? Did the Lt's union rent the building from us? Were the people taking part off the clock? From what I can tell this was one exclusive and independant group giving an award to a member of another exclusive, independant group.
How many employers would let their employee go out and get an award from, say, the Lions Club, for work they do as member of their church or Boy Scout troop, on the company dime and company time. These "awards" should be given at functions by the group, not while they are on the clock for the city.

City Hall clocks are not normal clocks, they can be re-wound, or backed up, or whatever the cause may dictate.

At some point we will all reach a personal level of no longer caring. Empathy is a horse of a different color, no pun intended, but for many it happens.
Guns, horses , cars, or whatever; some people should never own them and others who do own them should no longer be able to keep them.
As long as animals are legally considered property and not living, sentient beings, they are generally going to get few protections.
The bottom line is most race horses are all about money not the romanticized SeaBiscuit saga.
If an airline kills your pet in transit, $50 maybe. Good thing there are good people like the pilot who returned his passenger plane back to the airport when he learned of planes in cargo and no temp or pressurization controls were working. That's when the media comes in handy. You can't stop incompetents from having kids but you can can ban them from ever owning animals- if you have the will and position and are smart.
