Albany Democratic sources tell me that representatives of Governor
Cuomo have rejected out of hand Democratic County Chair Todd M Kerner's recommendations
to fill the vacant seat of Saratoga County Clerk. That position was left vacant
on Jan 1 as former Clerk Kathy Marchione took up her Senate seat. Cuomo had
asked Kerner for suggestions to fill the vacant position but was not impressed
with the candidates for the 99k a year position. Kerner submitted three names Deputy
Commissioner of Public Safety Eileen Finneran, Henry J. ``Hank'' Kuczynski and
Peter Martin a rich retired Wall Street attorney best known as Brent Wilkes
side kick.
So faced with the rejection of his first picks Kerner went
with plan B, Greg Connors. Connors while unknown in Saratoga Springs is a well-known
democratic operative in southern
Saratoga County. He was Stillwater Supervisor from 2004-2007 and is a current
member of the Saratoga County Water Authority. As Supervisor he abolished the position
of building inspector and created the position of Director of Building,
Planning and Development to which he appointed his son David Connors. After
failing the Civil Service exam twice he was forced to resign and went to work
for then Congresswoman Gillibrand. David Connors is currently employed by the
Senator.
Conner’s was defeated in 2007. In 2013 residents are still
waiting for the completion of a mini park on Route 9p which he had been promised
since 2004.
He is also no stranger to shady dealing as State Supreme
Court Justice Ferradino stated he found irregularities in the Connors campaign
going back to 2003.
Worse his family has a history of voter fraud convictions.2005
Mechanicville Republican mayoral candidate Jeff Brown alleged Greg’s brother,
Joseph Connors, the Mechanicville Democratic Committee chairman, and his other brother
William Connors, economic development director, engaged in voter fraud before
primary day in September 2005.
William Connors admitted filing false information on
absentee ballot applications on behalf of 16 voters in the 2005 Conservative
and Independence primaries in Mechanicville. The crimes, class A misdemeanors,
were punishable by up to a year in prison, but Connors was only sentenced to
two weekends in the Saratoga County Jail. Under the terms of the plea, Connors
also resigned as voting machine custodian and was ordered to pay $1,165 in fees.
Connors' brother Joseph, the chairman of the Mechanicville Democratic Party,
pleaded guilty to a single count of disorderly conduct on Primary Day in
September 2005. The court ordered Joseph Connors, 51, to perform
20 hours of community service and pay a $500 fine and an additional surcharge.
Yea I’d say Greg Connors has what it takes to be County
Clerk. Hell maybe he can bring his brothers on board. The fact that these four
clowns are the best the Democrats can come up with shows just how pathetic the
party is in Saratoga.

brandy and cigars but no word that “Tops and Bottoms” will be providing entertainment.

Yepsen has lost her connection to Albany.....seems like it's been a short run for Mayor.
Class A screwups like the Connor clan actually make the republican paranoia about voter fraud sound legit.
Way to go boys - upholding the Saratoga democratic tradition of corruption, incompetence and nepotism.

I would agree. Patti Southworth is the shining star and far more qualified for the position. She is an achiever not a "pretender" like the other possible choices. It would be hard to list any significant accomplishments of the other choices including Yepsen. They are all users not doer's.
The "Lefty Loons" here are devasted by this news,you would think after Yepsen danced "Gangum Style" for Cuomo out in Buffalo last year this all could have been handled by making one phone call,they got to be the laughing stock of the city committee,good reporting JT.
The POCKET park was to be on the end of luther road and 9P,but had nowhere to park any vehicles and the builder decided not to develop the property.
Stillwater was a reasonable town to live in until conners did a town wide assessment and raised all the homeowners taxes like an asshole.
You also forgot to mention that him and his son burnt down a mans house on Saratoga lake.
The fire dept put out the small fire caused by the homeowner, then those two dummies went into the secured home and opened the windows and left,,,, burning it to the ground,I do believe the town paid for that one....
How these two fuckwads ever got jobs anywhere again just goes to show you it's a Skippy world...and how fucked up this state is...
His son could not pass the building inspector test,yet he was still doing that job for the town of Stillwater for years without question..
At least the Governor included VLT revenues in the 2013/2014 budget. Unfortunately they should be around three times the current amount according to the original formula. Lenz should have been smarter than that and should have requested a contract like Joe Faraldo did in Yonkers where all funds go to offset school taxes. Guess even the Republicans make mistakes but we admit them!!!

well i think like 35% goes to advertising,then you got all kinds of bullshit make-believe -jobs like lots of office personal they need expensive vehicles to drive around all day.then if anything is left over they guard it like gold bars & only IF the school dont make their budget,then they give it whatever they are short but not before a big investigation why they came up 1.5 million short if you need it explained farther give ron canestrie a call he is an expert on this subject

Stillwater really hasn't changed a lot since the conner's have left.
Just a new group of self serving individuals that give themselves raises and really don't care about the tax payers,I am still waiting for the park on lake ave to be finished,just another pipe dream...
