Veteran Ballston Town
Supervisor Patti Southworth announced today that she will run for Saratoga County
Clerk. In announcing the decision she also said she is stepping down as as
chair of the Saratoga County Independence Party to concentrate on her campaign.
Unlike others {Franck,Yepsen} Southworth has had to fight it
out in three brutal elections in the Republican stronghold of Ballston. In
doing so she has built a potent team of veteran campaigners.
While the Republican Party publicly named Halfmoon
Councilman and business owner Craig Hayner as their choice the “open and
transparent” Democrats have refused to name the people they recommended to Gov.
Andrew Cuomo to fill the vacant position. If Andy chooses anyone besides Southworth
,they will have a fight on their hands come November.
Speaking of fights.
Kaged Kombat, the Capital Region's premiere Mixed Martial
Arts event, holding 'amateur only' events is coming to Saratoga Springs Civic
Center tomorrow tight.I’m sure Susan Steer and the other fine ladies of Saratogians
for Gun Safety would be against this event. Funny thing is most of them have
their heads stuck so far up their self-righteous asses they have no idea
what happens in Saratoga out side the fun little parties.
And finally despite my best efforts to promote Commissioner of Accounts John Franck’s little
groundhog party at the Parting Glass the crowd was a little light. I didn’t
make it myself but a bartender told me Eileen Finneran, Deputy Commissioner of
Public Safety was offering lapdances to anyone who contributed a hundred bucks
to the “Lets sue John Tighe’s ass fund” . Despite her best efforts to shimmy
with the attendees there were no takers.

Franck is done that's not really news but Yepsin daughter is going to primary him,should be a good one.John was promising at one time---but like most dems.their eyes are bigger than their stomachs....I was at the affair this evening...it was a wake,time to move on,a scirrocco could beat this guy.
What's everybody so pissed off about????.Saratoga Springs is a World Class destination and do you mean to tell me just because Mr. Francks'real estate mogul and campaign donor thinks'a meth clinic fits into the citys' main enterence is a problem?
This was one of the few fund raisers' that lost money,the $14lap dance was fun in spite of the dull crowd.

This will truly be a crazy election year. Franck is being opposed by Ivins? Hate to say it but Yepsen's daughter could win this thing. Yepsen for mayor? Wow! Who is running against Madigan?

John Franck has always thought Jo-ann Yepsen was a phoney and now that her Daughter will Primary him only proves there is a great divide in this axis.
So how many of our illustrious council members, their deputies and other big fish in this small pond have received a dwi in the last 12 years? It's all bad and so is attending meetings with a buzz on.
If Joanne's daughter primaried John that would split the party wide open. Will never happen. The McTgues and John are like brothers. Another foolish rumor. Ivins will not run against Madigan. he can't beat her unless she makes a terrible mistake or a foolish decision. Of course the Dems have been known for making such mistakes. The Republican Party will struggle to get five credible candidates for Council. Skip will run unopposed again.
Why would Franck leaves after eight years. Two more years and free healthcare for life. That's tough to walk away from especially with all the kids. I would be shocked if he doesn't run.
The person who should run against and beat Madigan is committed elsewhere but strange things happen during the road to the election.

Donna Buckley couldn't shine this person's shoes not would she ever work for him. This person deals as a professional and is not a true politician. If a deal has been made to allow Skip to run unopposed he and his supporters on the Committee should be dismissed from the Party if he supports Yepsen. This would set back the Republican Party for several years. How would he think that would help him in any way. Of course no one ever had documentation that he thinks clearly.
The parakeet will win easy and Franck knows it,although he will admit he's a bird of a different feather he welcomes the battle.... he's used to the hen pecking,soooo bring it on.

Billy and Pat did a real backdoor job on Tommy. He should turn his back on both, live quietly with his new home and horses. He doesn't need this crap anymore. Tommy made some mistakes but got the job done at a high pevel. He was an an achiever and the others were pretenders sometimes playing both sides of the fence. Tommy knows it and should walk away.As a Republican I would support and vote for him if he ran but that alternative no longer exists. Tommy - Live well and stay happy.

So Ivins went to city hall to get his check from Frank and tells him "Thanks and Oh by the way I'm running against you for accounts"

Ken Ivins has proved he's a good person he should win,I believe he worked with SUCCESS and defeated Franck who wanted the change,now he'll get another change.

City hall insiders agree that Scirrocco always was fearful of Tommy coming back and paying him(Scirrocco)back for that lying and corrupt campaign of 06,no need to worry about that Franck,Yepsen and Billy took care of that,nothing like brotherly love,the deed is done.
JT,is there any truth to the latest city hall rumor that Scirrocco by a special request from Civil Service Chairman and the acknowledge democratic city and county chairman Elio Delsette had attended this meeting and that a deal was hammered out between Billy, hank,franck and bulman which stated they would leave skippy alone??

Ken did do some lit drops for Success and did not support charter change but he will not run against John Franck. The County level is where he will be competing. Everyone knows he plays both ends against the middle, cannot be trusted and is no longer a person of stature within the Republican Party.He does have some important contacts but I don't think you will see him in City Hall again. Too much John Herrick in him. Maybe the city should outsource IT and use Ken's business. That would be the best option for the city.
The only thing Yepsen and Billy have taken care of is the continous political plotting and manipulation. If anyone can name five achievements that are most notable for the two please feel free to post tem. I don't mean the get involved initially and run type but solid achievements.Billy's total life is centered around getting back at Skippy and he uses anyone he can including some puppets on the Council to achieve part of this by making it harder for DPW to get their job done. You notice where all the dollars went for 2013 - Public Safety. Almost a record 57% of budget and a commissioner constantly whining about needing more. Matthieson belongs where Ron Kim has gone He should be out the door and stay there.
Scirocco SHOULD be fearful! All of his lies, his dirty back-door deals, mishandling of the total dpw dept. will come crashing down on him real, real soon!! He wouldn't be able to hid behind his protective wall of T. Cogan, D. Buckley, Elio, or the Mayor. Maybe his friends the Mabee's can find him a new job. Yepsen is the Queen of No Accomplishments. Always mooching around trying to attach her name to someone else's work. Pathetic really. Franck will get hammered in the media leading up to the election. Mary Zlonik fiasco will come back to haunt him.
